Outdoor Education

Derwent Hill provides purposeful, enjoyable and safe residential outdoor education for children and young people.

Derwent Hill has been running outdoor education courses since 1962. With a fantastic location, a great venue and a professional team of tutors we can offer a range of courses that will generate powerful learning experiences.

We pride ourselves on running courses that are fun and engaging for young people that promote their personal and social development and environmental awareness, and enrich their learning. This helps them to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

Our courses are based on an experiential approach using a range of outdoor activities and a variety of different locations to enhance the learning outcomes.

We tailor our courses to meet the needs of each group and the young people attending.

We welcome young people with disabilities, for more information follow the link to  special needs page
